Note: The term "ID" is used in many places in the platform. For any object, id is the name of the field that contains the record ID. System objects like Users provide the foundation for the platform, but they are still objects. Those objects have records, and each record has an "id" field. To keep things short, we use term "User ID", rather than "the value of the id field for the user's record in the Users object". But both the short term and the long one refer to the same thing.
