The Terms of Service (ToS) are a set of legally binding rules that define how the service can be used by service subscribers.
- Examples
- A service provider can require that a user accept and comply with Terms of Service when:
- signing up with a new email provider
- downloading a software product or update
- signing up for an online service (with a retail company like eBay or Amazon or a business software company like Oracle, IBM, SAP or Microsoft)
The Terms of Service (ToS) are defined by the Service Provider, typically with the assistance of legal counsel.
- Considerations
- ISVs can create a single, multipurpose ToS for use by all MSPs and Tenants, or custom ToS pages can be created and provided to individual Tenants or MSPs
- MSPs and Tenants must comply with the ToS defined by their primary ISV
A Terms of Service link is included in the following registration pages, which are part of the process to add a new User/Tenant/MSP:
To configure the Terms of Service:
- Created a web page containing the Terms of Service
- Click Settings > Service Provider Settings -or- Settings > MSP Settings
- In the Registration Configuration section, update the URL with the web page address
- Learn more:
- ISVs, see Service Provider Settings
- MSPs, see MSP Settings
