Bounced Email Configuration for Alternate Service Domains
From LongJump Support Wiki
This feature is available to MSPs who use an Alternate Service Domain name. The Alternate Service Domain Name provides the ability to uniquely brand the MSP product, and replace the default ISV branding.
To setup the Bounced Email Configuration for Alternate Service Domains:
Required:
- Alternate Service Domain
- Hostname
- mailbox address
- mailbox password
If configured, the corresponding mailbox address will be used in all emails that are sent using the domain.
e.g. Primary Domain: www.acme.com
- Additional Domain: www.alternate-domain.com
- Mailbox Address for Primary Domain: mailservice@acme.com
- Mailbox address for Additional Domain: mailservice@alternate-domain.com
- Considerations
- For any email that is sent by MSPs or Tenants using the Primary Domain name, the bounce email address is of this format: mailservice@acme.com
- Some Mail clients (Microsoft Outlook, for example) will display this bounce email address in the From email address field
- For any email that is sent by MSPs or Tenants using the Alternate Domain name, the bounce email address is of this format: mailservice@alternate-domain.com
- In addition, if bounce processing is enabled, the standard bounce processing logic is applied on the bounce email configuration specified for the additional domain
