An RSS reader allows you to scan and collect RSS/Atom feeds from a number of different sources, and display it in a Home Page Widget.
What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It's an easy way for you to keep up with news and information that's important to you, and helps you avoid the conventional methods of browsing or searching for information on websites. Now the content you want can be delivered directly to you without cluttering your inbox with e-mail messages. This content is called a "RSS feed."

Supported Features
- Display Items from
- This option allow the user to choose different filter that he want to apply in the RSS items when the RSS items display in the RSS Reader widget and This is a filter field user can choose different filter like (the past 24 hours, the past 2 day, the past 3 days) if user select the the past 24 hours option then items that satisfy this criteria will display in the RSS Widget, rest of item will not be display
- Limit Rows Display up to
- This option allow the user to limit the items display in tge RSS Reader widget. suppose the RSS feed contains the 50 items and users want to display only 5 item in the RSS Widget. then with the help of this field he can do this

Setup
- Add a Widget, using these options:
- Position
- Choose a column
- Type
- Widget Tools
- Widget Tool
- RSS Reader
- RSS Feed URL
- Default value is http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss; choose from these additional options
- Display Items From
- Select a date range
- Limit Rows Display to
- Select number of rows
- Widget Title
- Add a title for the widget
- Click [Save]
A new RSS Reader Widget will be displayed in the Home page, and the latest RSS Items will be updated as information becomes available.
Limitations
- RSS reader widget shows only those items that are available in RSS Feed
- There is no Caching Mechanism so that it shows only those items that are currenly present in the RSS/Atom Feed
- There is no auto refresh available in RSS Reader (to see the latest news/items refresh the RSS Reader Widget or Home page)
