Before you create a price book, make sure the product database has been created.

You can Import Products in a batch process, or add Products manually. See Add a New Product for more information.

Once you have added the products, you can create a new price book and associate it with an opportunity.

Create a Price Book

  1. From the Sales Force Automation application, click the Price Book tab
  2. Click the [New Record] button
  3. In the New Price Book page, enter a Name for the price book, making it easily recognizable
  4. Leave the Flag Active checkbox selected until you are ready to retire this price book (due to product discontinuation, expired contracts, or other reason)
  5. Enter a Description for this price book that identifies how it is to be used
  6. In the Teams Information section, select the team(s) who can see this price book
  7. Click [Save].
  8. In the Related Information section, click the [Add Products] button to select products to be included in this price book
  9. In the Related Information section, click the [Manage Products] button to modify Minimum Number of Units or List Price for each of the products in the price book
