About the Community Marketplace
The community marketplace is a catalog of application packages.
- Users browse the available packages by clicking [Go to Marketplace] in the Applications page.
- Users can rate application packages (giving them from one to five stars), and they can add review comments.
- Developers provide information for a marketplace listing after "publishing" the package to create the zip archive.
- Service Providers approve submitted packages using Manage Catalog functionality.
Tip:
Service Providers will generally want to enable Tenant Subdomains. Among other reasons, it allows the application catalog to be given a URL that can be viewed externally.

Working with Marketplaces
Creating a Marketplace
- If you haven't already done so, create a Community Tenant.
- In Service Provider Settings#Community Site Configuration, specify a domain that will be used to access the marketplace page. For example: applicationCatalog.ourServices.com
- __TBD: The subdomain can be anything. The domain portion has to match doesn't it? Why don't we specify just the subdomain?__
- __TBD: LJ Only:__ In the Catalog Configuration section above this one, remove the default URL from the Package Catalog URL field. (It's an older interface that provides reduced functionality).
Managing the Marketplace
Service Providers can approve or reject packages that have been submitted for inclusion in the catalog, specify categories, and determine the order in which packages appear.
To manage application packages:
Service Provider URL: http://{yourDomain}/networking/Service?t=1&targetpage=ViewPort.jsp
Settings > Service Provider Settings > Manage Catalog
- Categories
- Add and delete categories. Specify category names.
- Catalog
- View the current Catalog
- Approve Packages
- Review Packages pending approval
- User can either:
- [Approve] package for publication to the catalog
- [Reject] package, and deny publication to the catalog
- In either case, an email is sent to the submitter, to tell them the outcome.
