About Processes
Processes are sequences of tasks (or steps) that are carried out by Case Workers. The sequence, or process flow can do conditional branching based on record Data.
Processes are built from Process Models. Each model defines a sequence of operation, conditional branches and other potential sophistications. The Process definition provides a place to record expect performance criteria for a given instance of the process.

Business Process Modeling (BPM) is concerned with creating a graphical diagram that a designer can build interactively. The models help to arrange task flow so that users get the information they need to carry out their tasks. Computerizing the model automates the sequence, and allows for accurate record-keeping.
Working with Processes
Starting a Process
The processes associated with a case are displayed in the sidebar, along with their status.
- If the process can be started manually, a [Start] button is displayed. Clicking it initiates the process.
- Processes can also be started using Rules.
Creating or Modifying a Process
To create a process, you first need a Process Model that defines the tasks that must be performed to complete the process, and the manner in which information flows between them. With the Process Model created, you're ready to define the process.
To create or modify a Process:
- Click [New Process] or click an existing processes.
- Fill in process settings
- Click [Save]
Process Settings
Basic Information
- Name - Give the process a name.
- Description - Give it a short description.
- Required - If this box is checked, the Process must be completed before the case can be closed.
- Process Model - Select the template that defines the sequence of steps that make up the process. (The tasks to be performed.)
Process Target
- Target Duration - Specify the numbers of days or hours in which the process will normally be completed. (This field exists for reporting only, to track the number of processes that were within goal or exceeded the target.)
- Target Date will be Calculated from -
- Case Creation - The target date is based on the start-date of the case, regardless of when the process starts.
- Process Start - The target date is calculated from the date and time that the process is initiated.
- Calculate using Business Hours - Clicking this button lets you choose the Business Hours Calendar to use for the target date calculations. Leave it unchecked for a 24/7, 365 response policy.
