==activity-history==
===Overview=== | |||
Activity history allows you to show the activities performed on a record. Each entry in the activity history provides details about who performed which action and when. The history shows:
* Emails sent by the platform user or by the user.
* Messages received through the Email Channel (generally as a reply to a message that was sent).
* Private notes added to the record.
* For Cases, all fields are audited by default. For example, any change to the Status or Priority of a case record, or any other field in the record, is automatically recorded in the case history. You must explicitly enable 'Field Audit' for the non-case Objects, and specific fields are selected for audit.

==notes editor== | |||
===Overview=== | |||
Notes editor may be Private notes or Email messages. You can create these when you view a case record, or some other record.
The differences are: | |||
* A Private Note does not result in an email being sent to anyone.
* When internal users (normal users who log into the platform) view a record, they can see all email messages and notes recorded in the history. Their privileges and team memberships may or may not allow them to see the record. However, if they can see it, they have access to its entire history).
** For the Case object, email responses are stored in the history, as well as sent messages.
** For other objects, only sent messages are recorded.
* When external users (users accessing records using the Service Portal) view a record, they see only those messages in the record history in which they were a sender or a recipient.

- For the Case object, email responses are stored in the history, as well as sent messages.
